The creature attacks Eddie and Roland and Susannah has to shoot it. When it's dead, white parasites crawls from its head. Part flesh, and part machine. When it dies it asks for people to call 1-900-44 to receive a reward. Oddly enough Shardik is also a mythical bear in Richard Adamís book "Shardik".
